Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, are reportedly planning to sue a prominent Beverly Hills dentist, accusing him of fueling the rapper’s dependency on nitrous oxide—commonly known as laughing gas.
According to a press release issued on Thursday (May 1), the couple served Dr. Thomas Connelly with a notice of their intent to sue, alleging medical malpractice, gross negligence, fraud, exploitation, and the reckless administration of both controlled and uncontrolled substances.
The forthcoming lawsuit claims Dr. Connelly attempted to seize control of West’s brand, Yeezy LLC, by “incapacitating its principal, Ye, with a cocktail of controlled and uncontrolled substances.” The press release alleges that Connelly charged the rapper $50,000 per month for nitrous oxide alone.
Bianca and Kanye further allege that Connelly’s actions led to a wide range of injuries and damages, including “neurological and physical injury,” “psychological and emotional trauma,” chemical dependency requiring treatment, significant financial losses, and “loss of consortium.”
These claims echo previous statements made by Ye’s representative, Milo Yiannopoulos, who tweeted in August: “Connelly got Ye hooked on nitrous — laughing gas. It is my belief that Connelly sought to diminish Ye’s mental faculties so that Connelly and his business associates could extract millions of dollars from him.”
Yiannopoulos also accused Dr. Connelly of being “a dangerous predator who targets African-American celebrities — into whose mouth he puts fake diamonds,” and confirmed that he filed a complaint with the California Dental Board.
As of now, Dr. Connelly has not responded publicly to the accusations.
