Shedeur Sanders made a surprise stop at John Marshall High School in Cleveland shortly after arriving in the city to join the Browns, offering students an inspiring message and a candid look into his journey.
During the wide-ranging talk, Sanders opened up about his experience with the NFL Draft and addressed speculation that his father, Deion Sanders, may have hurt his draft stock.
Speaking with confidence and gratitude, Shedeur praised his father, saying, “I’m thankful my dad took the opportunity to do what he was supposed to do. I don’t ever feel shame or anything like that. My dad’s who he is, and I’m gonna be who I am regardless. I’m always gonna be his son.”
Looking ahead to his future with the Browns, Shedeur struck an optimistic tone. “We’re working out every day. We’ve got a purpose. We’ve got something we’re trying to accomplish and achieve,” he said.
He ended his visit on an ambitious note, telling the crowd, “I’m trying to bring Cleveland, of course, a Super Bowl.”
