New York Jets quarterback Jordan Travis has made the heartbreaking decision to retire from the NFL, just months after being drafted in 2024.

Travis, who suffered a devastating lower leg injury in November 2023 during his final game at Florida State, never made it to practice with the team. Despite months of intense rehabilitation, he revealed that his leg never healed the way doctors had hoped.

“On November 18, 2023, my life took an unexpected turn,” Travis said in a statement. “I gave everything I had to the rehab process, but despite all my efforts, my leg never responded the way we hoped. After much prayer and consultation with doctors, medical experts, and my agent, I’ve been medically advised to retire from the game I love so deeply.”

Travis also expressed gratitude to the Jets organization for their belief in him during such a challenging time.

“To the entire Jets organization, thank you for believing in me and providing me with the opportunity to live out the ultimate dream,” he added.
