Gilbert Arenas’ son, Alijah, is recovering after being involved in a serious single-car accident last week that ended with a Tesla Cybertruck catching fire.
According to a representative who spoke with TMZ, Alijah fortunately avoided life-threatening injuries but is still facing a difficult road ahead.
"Although Alijah has shown significant improvement following the traumatic experience, he still has a long road to full recovery due to severe smoke inhalation," the rep said.
Footage from the scene captured a harrowing moment in which a bystander pulled Alijah from the burning vehicle. He was later seen rolling in a puddle of water, likely in an attempt to cool down after escaping the flames. Upon being admitted to the hospital, he was placed in a medically induced coma. According to reports, Alijah has since regained consciousness — and one of his first questions was whether anyone else had been hurt in the crash.
Authorities confirmed that the Cybertruck involved in the crash was registered to Gilbert Arenas. Police also stated that speed was likely a contributing factor in the accident, though further investigation is ongoing.
