All eyes were on Shedeur Sanders during the NFL Draft as fans eagerly awaited to see when the star quarterback would be selected. However, during a livestream of his draft experience, Sanders was the target of an ill-timed prank by someone falsely claiming to be the New Orleans Saints' general manager.

It was later revealed that the prank was orchestrated by the 21-year-old son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, who had obtained the number for Sanders' special draft phone. Following the incident, Ulbrich’s son issued a public apology to Sanders.

“On Friday night, I made a tremendous mistake,” he said in a statement. “Shedeur, what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I'm so sorry I took away from your moment — it was selfish and childish. I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life, and I made a terrible mistake that interfered with that.”

"I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me," he added.

In response to the incident, the Falcons announced they are fully cooperating with any NFL investigation and are "thoroughly reviewing all protocols" to prevent similar situations from happening in the future.
