In a beef few saw coming, Kevin Gates has fired back after LeBron James seemingly addressed Gates' recent comments about his wife, Savannah James.
The controversy started when Gates took to social media, criticizing the way Savannah looks at LeBron compared to how, in his view, white women react to the NBA star.
“I don’t like the way Savannah look at LeBron,” Gates said. “I like the way them white women look at LeBron. Like, as soon as he walks out, they be like, ‘Oh oh oh.’ They be d*cked out.”
He went on to add, “When he does the handshake with the main player on his team, it’s like [Savannah acts] ‘You act like I’m bothering you, b****.’ Like, I’m the greatest player in the world—one of them. And I’m in the playoffs, and you act like the warden of the jail. Like, you came here to police me. You not d*cked out like these white women just d*cked about me in here.”
Not long after, LeBron appeared to respond subtly but pointedly. He posted a photo of himself kissing Savannah with the caption:
“Kings don’t concern themselves with the opinions of peasants. Where to next Queen?!?! Let’s get it!”
Gates later posted a follow-up video, standing by his comments and saying:
“The truth hurts, but it heals.”
His full response can be heard in the video above.
