Kanye West took to Twitter once again to share his unfiltered thoughts on fellow rappers, this time directing his criticism at J. Cole.
The controversy began when Ye responded to a tweet that read, "J. Cole spared Kendrick. He's no match for him." In reply, Ye wrote, "I hate J. Cole’s music so much. It’s like between Kendrick and J. Cole. I bet you industry plants asked J. Cole to diss Drake, then we would have been accosted with a J. Cole Super Bowl commercial—with no SZA song to save it."
He didn’t stop there. In a separate tweet, Ye added, "No one listens to J. Cole after losing their virginity."
Doubling down on his criticism, Ye claimed that during his Donda era meet-up with Drake, he warned the Toronto rapper that giving J. Cole a platform was detrimental to hip-hop. "Most of the convo was me telling him he was hurting hip-hop by giving J. Cole a platform, and I was saying how much I loved Future," Ye stated.
This isn’t the first time West has taken shots at Cole. Last year, on his remix of Future’s Like That, Ye rapped, "I can't even think of a Drake line / Play J. Cole, get the p***y dry."*
While J. Cole has yet to respond, Ye's latest remarks have reignited debate among fans about Cole’s place in the rap hierarchy—and whether Kanye's criticisms hold any weight.
