He revealed his father's problems with substance abuse and added that he never played a big role in his life. The South Carolina-born rapper said that he felt the need to provide for his family, leading him to turn to the streets as a teenager. He then revealed that he's lost over 20 friends to the streets and has known some teens who got 40-year prison sentences. Young Scooter recently passed away on his 39th birthday.
