On Tuesday night (March 25), news broke that the New York Giants have signed Russell Wilson to a one-year deal worth $10.5 million guaranteed, with incentives that could push the total to $21 million.

This move comes after Wilson previously signed a one-year, $1.21 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, all while still being owed $37.79 million from the Denver Broncos following his release.

At 36, Wilson has made it clear he intends to continue playing for years to come. In a November interview with ESPN's Hannah Storm, he expressed his long-term vision for his career:

"I definitely want to play another five to seven years," Wilson said. "I think that's always been my goal, I've been clear about that since the beginning. My mindset has always been about longevity in the game. I’ve been fortunate to play 200-plus games and really not miss many. ... I feel great, I feel young, I feel like I can still move around out there and make all the decisions and all the throws."

The Giants' decision to bring in Wilson follows their recent signing of another veteran quarterback, Jameis Winston, on a two-year, $8 million deal. With both experienced QBs now in New York, the team’s quarterback situation will be an interesting one to watch heading into the new season.
