Kanye West has recently gone on a lengthy Twitter rant, calling out several celebrities, including Playboi Carti, Tyler the Creator, Iggy Azalea, and even Jay-Z and Beyoncé. His latest tirade, which spans multiple posts, has sparked controversy and left many wondering about the motivations behind his comments.
One of the focal points of Kanye's rant was Playboi Carti. Ye criticized Carti for not including him on his latest album, I AM MUSIC, and for allegedly asking Kim Kardashian for permission to use vocals from North West on one of his tracks. Kanye claimed that Carti’s request for North’s vocals was a slap in the face, given that he was left off the album.
Kanye tweeted, “I DECIDED NORTH WON’T BE DOING ANY SONGS WITH CARTI. HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER? I DON’T [GIVE] A F— ABOUT NONE OF THIS INDUSTRY S— AND HOW IT’S A SKIMS LINE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I DON’T GIVE A F— WHAT NO COMMENTS THE MAN HAS; THE FIRST AND FINAL SAY OVER HIS KIDS IS ME.”
He continued with a pointed message, “HEY NORTH, YOUR DAD GAVE ME MY BIGGEST SONG AND CO-SIGN, AND I LEFT HIM OFF MY ALBUM BECAUSE OF HIS TWEETS. OH, BUT NORTH, YOU'RE MY NIECE, I GOTTA USE YOUR VOCALS.”
Ye took the drama a step further by calling out Iggy Azalea. Kanye wrote, “HEY IGGY AZALEA, I NEED TO GET ONYX’S VOCALS ON MY SONG. THAT’S MY NEPHEW, OH, AND I’M GONNA RAP ABOUT ONE OF YOUR BUSINESSES. THE F—?”
He also made a pointed remark about Kim Kardashian, accusing her of controlling the names and likenesses of their children, specifically North. Kanye claimed, “SO KIM GOT THE NAME AND LIKENESS OVER MY BLACK CHILDREN. SO A WHITE WOMAN HAS CONTROL OVER THE NAME AND LIKENESS OF MY BLACK CHILDREN, AND THEN SPEAKS TO CARTI ABOUT PUTTING MY DAUGHTER ON A SONG WITH HIM? THESE DUMBASS CELEBRITIES BE TRYING TO PLAY WITH ME IN MY FACE.”
Iggy Azalea later responded to Kanye’s comments, expressing her concern for her child and asking him to leave her family out of the drama. She wrote, “Ye, I understand the point you want to make. I say this with kindness and as a mother: Please, leave my child out of this.”
Playboi Carti also responded by telling Kanye to “STFU,” which Cassie later reposted the message on Instagram. This came after Kanye made claims about Cassie allegedly extorting Diddy, accusing her of threatening to release a tell-all book unless she received a $30 million payout. Kanye wrote, “HOW EVERY N*** YOU KNOW HIT A GIRL BEFORE BUT EVERYBODY SO MAD AT PUFF? SO CASSIE AIN’T EXTORT PUFF? CASSIE CAME TO PUFF AND SAID ‘GIMME 30 MILLION OR I’MMA RELEASE A TELL-ALL BOOK.’ THAT LOOKS LIKE EXTORTION TO ME.”
