A host of celebrities came out to pay their respects to Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, at her funeral last week, including Lil’ Kim.
Taking to Instagram, Kim reflected on their relationship, sharing how they had grown closer over the years.
“We spent the last 9-10 years strengthening our relationship, which—if you know our history—is truly God’s work,” she wrote. “But the last 4-5 years were really special because we started talking at least once a month. Then eventually, once a week. Then 2-3 times a week.”
Kim revealed that she saw Voletta as a “second mom” and was touched to learn that Mrs. Wallace had her saved in her phone as “daughter.”
Despite their deep bond, Kim expressed heartbreak over missing the chance to see Voletta one last time. “The plan was to spend time with her after my show in Atlantic City since she was only a couple of hours away, but that day will never come.”
She also shared a bittersweet memory of Biggie, imagining Voletta’s reaction to being reunited with her son. “I’m smiling to myself because I can hear you saying, ‘MY GOD CHRISTOPHER!! Put that smoke down!!’ It makes the sadness a little better knowing that you’re reunited with the other half of your heart. 💔”
