Gillie Da Kid opened up to Shannon Sharpe about the issues he encountered in the industry after turning down Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella offer.

Gillie explained that he felt that the deal was a "slave deal," adding that he would have to sell a lot of records to make anything back. From there, Gillie said that he was "blackballed" in the industry after turning down Jay-Z, which he said was confirmed by other people in the industry. Gillie also shared a story about DJ Khaled asking about his beef with Lil Wayne before agreeing to work with him.

Moving along, Gillie revealed that he also turned down Jay-Z's invite to the Roc Nation brunch, and he explained why he has no interest in going to the industry parties. Gillie stated that Jay-Z likes to flex his power at the party, adding that Jay doesn't smile in pictures with anyone who isn't a billionaire.

"The n***** don’t even smile with you n*g***s if you ain’t worth $500 million or more. Let’s be for real. The only smiling he do is when the billionaire is in the picture: 'Look at all these broke a** n****s on the lawn.'"
