Freeway "Ricky" Ross, a former d**g dealer who now operates a legal dispensary, discussed the evolving cannabis market in a recent interview with VladTV. Ross shared that acquiring a dispensary license was a lengthy process, taking nearly seven years and requiring significant legal changes to allow convicted felons, like himself, to participate in the industry. Having transitioned from illegal drug sales to legitimate cannabis business, Ross expressed surprise at the opportunity to legally sell marijuana. However, he noted the market's saturation and competitive pressures, particularly from Armenian growers who have significantly undercut prices. This influx has drastically reduced the price of marijuana, with a pound dropping from $3,200 to $1,000 in just two years. Ross also faced personal setbacks, including a loss of $700,000 after a theft at his intended grow operation site. Despite these challenges, Ross remains hopeful for future opportunities within the burgeoning cannabis industry.
