A terrifying incident unfolded in the New York City subway system during rush hour yesterday, leaving passengers scrambling in fear. The disturbing fight, which was caught on camera, resulted in one man being shot by his own gun and left in critical condition. This incident comes just a week after the deployment of National Guard troops by the New York Governor to help combat the spike in crime in the subway system.

According to reports, the altercation began when a man entered the train without paying his fare and attacked another passenger. The situation escalated quickly, with the attacker pulling out a gun, only to be disarmed and shot with his own weapon. Despite the chaos, authorities stated that 1 million people were able to safely reach their destinations throughout the transit system.

The victim, who was shot four times, was armed with both a knife and a gun, but no charges will be filed against the 32-year-old gunman as the district attorney ruled it an act of self-defense. This incident has raised concerns about safety in the subway system, prompting the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to enhance security measures.

The MTA has announced plans to install more cameras inside the trains, deploy trained mental health professionals, and implement metal detectors to improve safety.
