Terrence Howard has been ordered by a federal judge in Philadelphia to pay $903,115 in back taxes, following a year-long effort by the IRS to collect $578,000 in income taxes for the years 2010 to 2019. The actor left a voicemail for the tax attorney, expressing his belief that it was immoral for the U.S. government to charge taxes to the descendants of slaves, claiming the entire United States should belong to them. Howard, who has faced previous tax issues, did not respond to the lawsuit. In 2010, the IRS placed a $1.1 million lien on his property for unpaid taxes from 2007 and 2008. In 2019, a criminal probe was opened into Howard and his wife, Mira Pak, for tax evasion.
