Former Major League Baseball player Darryl Strawberry opened up about his struggle with drug addiction and his personal health battles. Strawberry was a four-time World Series champion, three wins coming from his time with the New York Yankees and one with the Mets. Despite his successful baseball career, Strawberry found himself struggling with recurring colon cancer that resulted in the removal of his left kidney. His journey led him to a second surgery, a struggle with painkiller addiction, and a violation of his probation. Strawberry wound up in front of a judge, who, after some deliberation, chose to imprison him for 12 months. Despite his adversities, Strawberry expressed gratitude that his problems forced him to hang up his uniform. His sobriety journey led him to meet his current partner, Tracy, at a Narcotics Anonymous convention in South Florida.
