Stephen A. Smith recently offered some harsh criticism of the Milwaukee Bucks under their new head coach, Doc Rivers. The Bucks have struggled under Rivers, with a disappointing three and seven record since he took over.
Smith pointed out that while the team has improved defensively, moving from 19th to 10th in defensive efficiency, their offensive performance has taken a hit. The Bucks went from being number two in offensive efficiency to 24th under Rivers. Giannis Antetokounmpo's shooting percentage has also dropped significantly since Rivers became the head coach. Smith expressed his concern about the team's offensive struggles, especially with stars like Giannis and Damian Lillard on the roster. He questioned why a team with such talent is struggling so much on the offensive end.
The sports commentator also criticized the Bucks for losing to the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies, who had little-known players stepping up and making an impact. Smith questioned how the Bucks could lose to a team missing key players like Ja Morant and Desmond Bane.
Doc Rivers himself called out his team after the loss, saying that some players looked like they were already on vacation. Smith agreed with Rivers, emphasizing the importance of winning in a city like Milwaukee where there may not be as many distractions or entertainment options as in larger cities.
