Michael Vick discussed his fall from grace and his comeback. Vick served 21 months in prison for dog fighting, leaving him financially devastated and under immense pressure to rebuild his life. Regaining trust in the NFL was particularly difficult, but Vick emphasized his changed character and eagerness to work. Notwithstanding social backlash for his past crimes, Vick made his return as the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback and was named 'Comeback Player of the Year.' That same year, however, one of his dog-fighting co-defendants, Quanis Phillips, was shot at Vick's 30th birthday party. Vick, while admitting he shouldn't have been at the party, claimed no knowledge of the shooting's circumstances.
