Christopher James Casey, 55, of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, has been charged with causing the death of his neighbor, Robert Wallace, with whom he had a long-standing feud over loud snoring. Casey allegedly stabbed Wallace multiple times with a military-style knife after a verbal confrontation. The incident occurred after Wallace removed a window screen from Casey's home and opened the unlocked window. The two had been dealing with "personal issues" related to Wallace's complaints about Casey's snoring.
Casey told police that he did not believe Wallace's intentions to resolve the situation were genuine, leading him to surprise him by stabbing him. Wallace died later in the hospital, and Casey required treatment for a self-inflicted stab wound on his leg. Casey faces charges of third-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter, and possessing instruments of a crime.
