A well-known Hollywood editor, Christopher Charkowski, is facing professional repercussions following his recent arrest for child endangerment. Despite initial speculation that he might continue working on a significant Amazon Prime show, TMZ has confirmed that he is no longer associated with the studio.
Charkowski, 39, was arrested in Los Angeles County last week on a felony charge of willful cruelty to a child causing possible injury or death. A video circulating online, submitted to authorities as part of the investigation, allegedly shows him engaging in brutal behavior towards a child inside a house. The incident is reported to have occurred in June 2022, as per court records filed in November.
The disturbing video depicts a man, presumably Charkowski, aggressively interacting with what appears to be a young boy, including physical contact and potential punches. While the relationship between the adult and child is unclear, law enforcement deemed there was sufficient reason to connect Charkowski to the incident. He has been released on bail, with future court dates scheduled.
Charkowski has a background in post-production for major TV shows, including his recent work on "Jury Duty," which gained attention and was nominated at the Golden Globes. Despite initial public outcry for Amazon to sever ties with him, TMZ reports that Charkowski is no longer affiliated with the studio. His role on "Jury Duty" was described as that of an outside contractor, not a permanent employee of Amazon/Freevee. Sources indicate that he hasn't been employed by Amazon since the show concluded production almost a year ago, and it is unlikely he will return.
Additionally, Charkowski had previously worked on Bravo's "Below Deck Mediterranean" for an extended period, but he hasn't been associated with the show for approximately two years, according to production sources.
