YNW Melly’s double murder retrial was previously rescheduled for February 2024. However, news surfaced noting the trial has been delayed once more, this time to March 2024.
A request for an extension was filed by YNW Melly’s team earlier this week, with the extension providing his team extra time to prepare their defense. The request was approved by Broward Circuit Court Judge John Murphy, and it was also revealed that the trial date is set for March 5, 2024. Jury selection for the retrial has already begun.
Prior to this news, the judge granted 13 defense motions to exclude key evidence, which included the admission of digital evidence like messages to the day of and following the murders. Stay tuned for more updates.
