A former Miss Bolivia, 22-year-old Alondra Mercado Campos, is currently being investigated for gun-trafficking charges in Beni, Bolivia. According to reports from the New York Post, Mercado Campos, who held the titles of Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020 and Miss Charm Bolivia in 2023, is currently in custody at Trinidad Women's Prison. She is suspected of acquiring unauthorized weapons in collaboration with her fugitive boyfriend, Andres Vasquez.

In November, authorities from the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (FLECN) conducted a raid on Mercado Campos and Vasquez, discovering a significant arsenal of over 100 firearms, including AK-47s and ammunition. Following a court appearance, a judge deemed Mercado Campos a flight risk, leading to her placement in pre-trial detention for 30 days.

Further investigations are pending, with forensic tests on the couple's BMW SUV expected to result in additional charges related to drug trafficking. Investigators suspect that Mercado Campos may be involved in a criminal network led by her boyfriend, who is currently evading authorities and wanted for questioning. Mercado Campos' cell phone has been seized for forensic analysis, as investigators believe it could provide valuable information about her alleged involvement.

Deputy Prosecutor Geraldo Balderas of the Beni Department stated, "The boyfriend is being investigated for trafficking in controlled substances and is a fugitive." Despite having over 41,000 followers on Instagram, Mercado Campos' social media activities, including images of her time with Vasquez at a waterpark and parties, are now under scrutiny as investigators seek further evidence in the case.
