According to AllHipHop, former Bad Boy rapper G. Dep will possibly be released from prison soon after he was granted clemency for his murder charges. G. Dep, whose real name is Trevell Coleman, has been in jail since around 2010 after confessing to a murder he allegedly committed in the 1990s.

The outlet reports that the "Special Delivery" rapper will go before a parole board in the spring of 2024, where he's expected to be given conditional clemency. This is usually granted to inmates who show that they've been rehabilitated in jail and show remorse for their crime.

G. Dep was arrested in 2010 after confessing that he shot and killed a man during a robbery attempt in 1993. He was ultimately convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

While speaking about future plans if he were released, G. Dep told AllHipHop, "I would love to record again. I always enjoyed the recording process, the whole thing of putting together a song. Just actually listening to the finished product and especially the whole finished project once everything is done. I’m a fan of Hip-Hop. I really make stuff that I would want to listen to. I enjoyed that aspect of it and being able to listen to something that I felt like was my ode to Hip-Hop."
