NLE Choppa has entered a plea deal in connection to his drug and gun case from 2022 in Broward County.

According to reports, Broward Circuit Court Judge Barbara Duffy accepted the plea deal on Friday, which stipulates that the rapper will be on probation for a year. Despite the probation, NLE Choppa will still be allowed to travel nationally and internationally. As part of the deal, he must surrender any firearms, complete a firearm safety course, and fulfill 40 hours of community service.

The case stems from charges filed against NLE Choppa in 2021, including burglary, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of Alprazolam. Prosecutors agreed to drop the drug charge and downgrade two other charges to misdemeanors.

In April, NLE Choppa released a statement on social media alleging that he was targeted by the police and that substances were planted on him during the arrest. He also claimed mistreatment during the process.

The incident leading to the charges occurred in March 2021 when individuals in masks were recorded hopping over a fence at a Superior Towing lot. Subsequently, two men, including 18-year-old NLE Choppa, were pulled over in a silver Ford Expedition. A search of the vehicle revealed a Glock 27 with an extended magazine and an AK-47 Draco pistol in the back seat. Additionally, a backpack containing marijuana and Xanax pills was found.

NLE Choppa admitted to hopping over the fence but asserted that it was to retrieve a watch from a towed car. While he claimed no knowledge of the guns, he admitted the backpack was his. The rapper also addressed the situation on Twitter.
