Lil Nas X went viral on Thursday (November 30) after revealing that he was dropping a Christian song, which also led to some backlash.
Before sharing a snippet of the song, Lil Nas X wrote on X, "not gonna lie i wanted to reinvent myself for this next era but sadly im still gay." He then added, "y’all mind if i enter my christian era ?"
After catching some criticism, Lil Nas X hit back, writing, "making christian music does not mean i can’t suck d*** no more. the two are not mutually exclusive. i am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons." He then added, "y’all see everything i do as a gimmick. when in reality im just an artist expressing myself in different ways. whether im a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now christian y’all find a problem! y’all don’t police nobody else art like mine. y’all hate me because im fun cute and petite."
