YouTube personality Hassan Campbell was shot in broad daylight while live streaming near a New York City apartment building, according to police reports.

The New York City Police Department confirmed to The U.S. Sun that Campbell, known for his controversial internet presence, was hit in one shoulder before seeking medical attention on his own. Campbell gained prominence in 2016 when he, among others, accused rapper Afrika Bambaataa of sexual abuse during their youth. Bambaataa denies all allegations, and no charges have been filed against him. During a Sunday morning livestream discussing Cassie's lawsuit against hip-hop legend P. Diddy (Sean Combs), Campbell, standing outside the Bronx River Houses, passionately addressed the allegations, drawing parallels to his own experiences.

Expressing frustration that stories like his don't gain attention, Campbell criticized the industry, stating, "I totally disrespect the industry... What are you all telling me? My life and my pain weren't worth anything?" As the livestream continued, he became visibly distressed, screaming in public and challenging viewers to confront him.

The video abruptly cuts to Campbell in the back of a car, urgently asking to be taken to the hospital, revealing that he had been shot. The New York Police Department confirmed one gunshot wound to the shoulder. Campbell later posted a video to YouTube after undergoing surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
