Juelz Santana admits that bringing a gun to the airport ranks as the "dumbest thing" he has ever done. In 2018, Santana received a 27-month prison sentence for carrying a loaded weapon through security at Newark Liberty International Airport. During a recent interview at ComplexCon 2023 alongside Jim Jones, Santana clarified that his initial decision to flee the airport was not due to awareness of the firearm but rather concerns about traffic-related warrants.
When asked by Complex's Jordan Rose about his biggest mistake, Santana candidly acknowledged the airport incident, stating, "Take that gun in the airport. I didn’t do it on purpose, but you know, it happened. It definitely was a dumb mistake, man." Jim Jones, present in the interview, humorously countered with his own "dumbest thing," joking that "starting rapping" was his top choice.
