Four teenage girls wearing Halloween costumes were recently arrested after allegedly attacking an Arkansas police officer in Hot Springs. The incident, which was captured on body camera video, unfolded after the officer confronted the group for littering. The situation quickly escalated as the girls became aggressive and began physically assaulting the officer. On Halloween evening, Lieutenant Kenny May of the Hot Springs Police Department noticed a group of girls walking along the street. When he saw one of them throw a can into the road, he pulled over to confront them. May warned the girls that they would be arrested if they continued to litter.

However, the girls disregarded his warnings and got increasingly confrontational. As May attempted to follow the girls to their homes to inform their parents about the littering, they refused to cooperate and hurled profanities at him. Frustration boiled over when one of the girls threw another can directly at May. Despite his efforts to restrain himself, May eventually had to physically restrain one of the girls, leading to the other three girls assaulting him. Backup officers arrived at the scene and helped subdue the girls.

They were subsequently arrested and charged with battery in the second degree. The girls were taken into custody and escorted to the police department, where their parents were notified.
