Mase reacted to Memphis freshman Mikey Williams quoting rapper Rylo Rodriguez after he was ordered to stand trial on six felony gun charges.
The charges stem from an incident earlier this summer where Williams is accused of firing a gun at a vehicle with five people inside. He could be sentenced to up to 28 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
Williams, a former five-star basketball prospect who was at one point ranked as the No. 2 player in his class, quoted rapper Rylo Rodriguez on his Instagram account after appearing in court. The quote, from Rodriguez's "Ah Never Be the Same" reads, "Say the judge and DA f***in' with his head, just stay afloat."
Mase was quick to react, telling his co-host that Williams "is going to jail." He went on to add that Williams needs to be posting more inspirational quotes if he's a teenager facing serious time in prison. Mase stated, "Mikey, this is not the time to be quoting Rylo!"
