There has been a discussion in R&B music throughout the last few years regarding who are some of the most significant and impactful artists. The conversation that comes up is similar to the debate about who belongs on the Mount Rushmore of hip-hop. Now, singer Mario has proclaimed that he should be on Mount Rushmore of R&B singers.

While speaking to TMZ, the “Let Me Love You” artist laid out who should be on the monument. He first named Michael Jackson and Beyoncé, then immediately listed his name. When laying out why, Mario said the influences in terms of music being played around him by his grandmother and mother shaped the artist he would become, eventually selling millions of records as a solo act.
