Towards the end of the 1980s, El Chapo (aka Joaquin Guzman-Loera) joined the Sinaloa Cartel as a drug trafficker for the infamous Miguel Angel Felix-Gallardo. Within less than a decade, El Chapo took over as the supreme leader of the criminal organization. Since then, his legendary reign has grown. Along with numerous subplots involving his wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, his sons (a group of siblings commonly known throughout Latin America as Los Chapitos), wild prison breaks, and more.

Another notorious aspect of El Chapo's legacy was his underground tunnels and stash houses. A group of construction workers recently discovered one of El Chapo's old stash houses, which is interesting considering he wrote a letter to his legal representatives, from behind bars, asking for more money, earlier this year.

The viral footage shows the construction workers removing loads of cash that appeared to be hidden in the walls of the old home.
