In an impassioned Instagram post, music executive Scooter Braun called out those being silent about the recent developments Israel. Braun focused the first portion of his post calling attention to the innocent people that were killed as a result of the attack carried out by Hamas. He then pivoted by discussing the silence from people on the situation.

Braun's post faced its share of criticism when he pointed out how himself and others within the Jewish community marched with Black Lives Matter prompting many in the comments to say he undermined his message by attempting to throw that in the faces of would-be black sympathizers.

Scooter Braun's message read in its entirety:

"So this post has been taken down by instagram twice by bots so third time here we go… HER NAME IS NOA. She is just one of thousands who attended a music festival 3 days ago where 260 kids were murdered and more like Noa were kidnapped… She could be your sister, your friend, your daughter. But I sit and watch so many stay silent waiting for it to becomes a trend before they get involved. I know you are scared. I know you are confused. I know all too well how divisive and nuanced things are between Israel and Palestine and I have fought for both sides for peace. Both sides have leadership that has failed them. But I have watched Jews as a minority speak up everytime for others. We marched with you during Black Lives Matter, we stood with you for gun reform, we screamed out when your rights were challenged because of sexual orientation. We give when you are sick. Many of us are you. But when our synagogues were shot we heard your silence, and now that those in our homeland are murdered by terrorists we don’t expect you to call out for justice, for protection. We actually expect your silence. We expect your ridicule when we defend ourselves. But deep down we always hope our friends would see us. See we are scared. See we wish we mattered enough to you. So yes we are strong. We’ve had to be. But we wish it didn’t have to be a trendy movement for our murders from a terrorist organization to matter. We just wish we mattered to you as much as you matter to us. And now I expect your ridicule. I just choose not to be afraid of it. And for those who choose not to be silent… thank you."
