With so much hype surrounding the WBA Super Middleweight title fight between Canelo Álvarez and Jermell Charlo, another showdown was supposed to occur on the same day: Rico Recklezz vs. Rooga. Leading up to Saturday, the South Side Chicago rappers had been jawing at each other all week about squaring up with a pair of boxing gloves. However, when the time finally came for the guys to mix it up, they both showed up at the right location but wrong times. Rico Recklezz showed up first and about an hour after he left, his would-be opponent arrived. Upon their arrival, the guys posted proof by hopping on IG live. Unfortunately, their schedules didn't align on this day and the fight was ultimately postponed. Prior to Saturday, Rico Recklezz tried to recruit a promoter to help organize things. It certainly would have helped. Perhaps this small mishap will lead to a fight on a large platform for the guys in the near future.
