In an interview discussing the notorious Genovese crime family, former FBI special agent Mike Campi details the rise and fall of James Ida, also known as "Little Guy." Ida began as a driver for Matty "The Horse" Ianniello, a highly respected member of the Genovese family, before becoming the family's consigliere. During his tenure, Ida resolved family disputes, sanctioned murders, and interacted with other crime syndicates. Despite refusing a 15-year plea deal, Ida was eventually convicted and is now serving a life sentence. The successful operation against Ida also resulted in the charging of Mickey Generoso and Barney Bellomo, which impacted the Genovese family to the degree that Genovese member Sammy "Meatballs" commented that the family could not survive another hit like that. Ida’s downfall even involved an unexpected link to La Toya Jackson after her husband’s car, registered in her name, was given to the mobster. This significant information emerged during Ira’s controversial trial.
