Jaz-O also spoke about the importance of honing their skills and constantly experimenting with new things, comparing it to how Miles Davis was so good with his trumpet that he would drive himself crazy trying new things. Despite their focus on honing their craft, their conversations were not usually philosophical but focused on how to get on, such as getting on tours and making money.
When asked about how he felt when other people started using the triplet style, Jaz-O said he found it flattering but was disappointed that his label did not do enough to promote him as the poster child for the style. He also mentioned other artists who used the style and gave them a shoutout.
