According to reports, Jade Cargill's contract with the AEW recently expired. Thus making the woman who once held the TBS AEW Championship for 508 straight days a free agent. Tony Khan, the co-founder, and co-owner of the AEW, has remained relatively quiet on the matter concerning one of his company's brightest stars, saying, "As far as Jade goes, I can't really comment on that except to say that Jade's been a great wrestler for AEW and certainly [is] always welcome in AEW. You know, could always be somebody we would always love to work with here in AEW."
Meanwhile, rumors about Jade Cargill defecting to the AEW's biggest rival in pro wrestling, the WWE, have been heating up. With a roster full of decorated divas such as Charlotte Flair, Trish Stratus, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Bayley, and Rhea Ripley, the WWE would be an ideal landing spot for the 31-year-old to etch her name amongst the all-time greatest in-ring performers. The thought of seeing Jade Cargill defeat a WWE Women's Champion like Iyo Sky with her finishing move, Jaded, is a dream scenario that is creeping closer to becoming a reality for wrestling fans.
Jade Cargill visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, this week amid speculation that the promotion, recently acquired by TKO Holdings, is preparing to offer her a lucrative contract that would include a significant push on the NXT brand and the main roster. If Jade makes her WWE debut on the NXT brand, it could set up an exciting storyline with the new NXT Champion, Becky Lynch.
