According to reports, 32-year-old model Nichole “Nikki” Coats was found dead inside her apartment in downtown Los Angeles. This is the second time an incident like this has happened in a week.
Nikki’s mother spoke to KTLA 5 about her daughter, saying, “This is senseless, and I want some answers because my daughter is gone. And it’s not fair. I want everybody to find out who did this to her. She shouldn’t be gone.” Family members noted the last time they heard from Nikki, she was heading out for a date on September 8.
Nikki’s father and her aunt decided to visit the young woman’s apartment on September 10 after they hadn’t hear from her all weekend. Nikki’s mother, Sharon described the scene as “gruesome,” and Nikki’s aunt, May Stevens, said, “I couldn’t recognize her.”
Stevens continued, “I believe it was murder, I really do. One of her legs was up in the air in a kicking position. That’s not somebody who just laid in their bed and died.” As of now, police are investigating Nikki’s death, calling it a “suspicious” one while the L.A. County Coroner’s Office continues to examine the body of the young woman. Stay tuned for more updates.
