New York Yankees pitcher Anthony Misiewicz took a 100.6-mph line drive straight to the head during Friday night's game at PNC Park versus the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The pitch was fired back off the bat of Pirates’ Ji Hwan Bae ricocheting off the left side of Misiewicz’s face who immediately went to the ground. He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital after initially being checked out by the PIrates' team doctors.

“All I know is he left here in good spirits and [the medical staff] felt like in a pretty good spot,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. “Just hoping and praying for the best as far as results and the hours after.”
