It has been a busy week for Peso Pluma. On Tuesday morning, news broke of a death threat aimed at the 24-year-old singer by the CJNG Cartel, the most dangerous criminal organization in his native country, Mexico.  The following night, Peso Pluma was all smiles at the 2023 VMAS in Newark, New Jersey, where he became the first regional Mexican recording artist to perform at the heralded award show. However, now that the festivities have concluded, the "Lady Gaga" singer and his team have no choice but to address the startling message left for him on a banner right above a bridge in Tijuana. Therefore, Peso Pluma, who has remained stateside, announced the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (9/14/23), Rosemont, Illinois (9/15/2023), and  Indianapolis, Indiana (9/16/2023). This October, he was tentatively scheduled to play a stadium show in Tijuana, Mexico.

According to reports, Peso Pluma received death threats from the CJNG Cartel because of the lyrics in his songs “Siempre Pendientes” and “El Bélicon."  Some believe those tracks pay homage to the CJNG Cartel's rival gang, the Sinaloa Cartel.
