After a short stint with the UFC, Matt Riddle signed with the WWE in the late 2010s, where he was initially assigned to the company's developmental brand called NXT. With an MMA background and a carefree persona reminiscent of Rob Van Dam, Riddle enjoyed his most successful year with the company in 2021, when he captured the United States Championship after defeating Bobby Lashley and John Morrison in a "Triple Threat Match." Two months later, Riddle became a Tag-Team Champion as a part of RK-Bro with the iconic Randy Orton. Lately, the WWE has been pairing Matt Riddle with former WWE Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre.

"The Original Bro" recently traveled to India to promote the WWE Superstar Spectacle, along with his colleagues such as John Cena, Seth Rollins, and WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley. The event attracted nearly 20 million viewers, but when Riddle arrived home, he reportedly received far less than a hero's welcome. Shortly after landing at the JFK Airport in Queens, New York, Riddle took to Instagram with a claim that he had been sexually assaulted by an airport security officer.

"There's nothing like being sexually assaulted by an officer and harassed at the JFK airport, no means no and just because I'm nice doesn't mean yes!!! A*sshole!!!" Riddle wrote. "Don't know their Twitter or Instagram handles but I took pictures, normally I'm like whatever but today was really weird and uncomfortable and they made a point to make me feel small and useless. Definitely one of the most uncomfortable travel days ever had thanks NYC, you're so progressive and accepting."

WWE wrestlers have had an interesting history with airport personnel since the infamous "Plane Ride From Hell" back in 2002. While conflicting reports suggest Riddle was slightly intoxicated, Matt Riddle appears to be standing firm on his allegations. Shortly after leaving the JFK Airport, he posted a selfie on Instagram with the following caption, "Finally leaving JFK and I never wanna come back here again."
