When Skip Bayless worked at ESPN in the early 2000s, he played a pivotal role in the sports morning talk show Cold Pizza, transitioning to a full-on debate show called First Take. Not only did Skip pioneer the new format, but he also orchestrated Stephen A. Smith's return to network television after he had been previously let go by the company. After nearly a decade together as perhaps the most memorable duo on ESPN, Skip departed for FS1, recruited Shannon Sharpe for Undisputed, and the rest is history.
Shannon Sharpe's exit from FS1 spawned a bidding war and a game of musical chairs that saw several former on-air personalities from ESPN sign land with Undisputed to replace him, while the NFL Hall of Famer ultimately took his talents to First Take to team up with Skip's old debate partner, Stephen A. Smith. The revamped version of Undisputed debuted this week with the additions of Michael Irvin, Keyshawn Johnson, Richerd Sherman, and Rachel Nichols. While Shannon Sharpe is set to make his first appearance on First Take this Monday. On Friday, Stephen A. Smith trolled Skip and his "New Dream Team" with a post on his social media account that indicates he's already won the ratings war.
