In a tragic incident in Jacksonville, Florida, a white gunman named Ryan Palmeter killed three black people at a Dollar General store in what is now classified as a racist attack. It was revealed that Palmetto had brought two firearms earlier this year that were used in the shooting.

The shooter had no prior criminal arrest history, but it was reported that he had been held under the Baker Act in 2017. The Baker Act is a law that allows for the involuntary detention and examination of individuals during a mental health crisis. Normally, a person detained under the Act is prohibited from purchasing firearms.

Interestingly, despite his previous encounter with the Baker Act, Palmeter was able to purchase the guns used in the attack legally. This highlights the need for more stringent background checks regarding firearm purchases.

Comedian D.L. Hughley expressed his anger and frustration over the shooting, stating that white supremacy fueled the attack. He also criticized former President Donald Trump, who currently faces criminal charges, for his alleged involvement in election interference cases. Watch above.
