Since the days of Kool Moe Dee, Run DMC, and LL Cool J, during the developmental period of hip-hop--jewelry has always played an integral role in how many rappers present themselves. New York native Eddie Plein introduced the rap game to "grills," and decades later, Lil Wayne forever changed pop culture when he uttered the words "Bling Bling" to his mentor, Birdman, during his adolescence. Today, jewelry-wearing is practically a badge of honor that signifies success and wealth in the rap game. On some occasions, rappers sing about their jewelry, flaunt it, and lose their lives because of their jewelry.

A video clip of Key Glock having a little fun with his jeweler recently went viral. It depicts the Memphis-based musician trying to decipher the brand of luxury watches by touching the jewelry while blindfolded.
