Melle Mel recently fired off a diss record aimed at Eminem, with the record seemingly asking Em, “Why you hurt” via a snippet he posted. Since then, the full track dropped, and Melle Mel took to social media to seemingly walk back the diss.
In a statement he released via social media, Melle Mel said, “Regrettably, my response fell short in its execution, and I accept full responsibility for the misjudgment. I acknowledge that my perspective was ill-conceived and I am prepared to take ownership of this oversight. It has become evident that Eminem’s dedicated and passionate fan base stands unwaveringly by his side, which is a testament to their genuine admiration and loyalty—a truly commendable aspect.” Read his complete statement above.

While there's no denying the cultural, social, and artistic impact that Melle Mel and Eminem have had on hip-hop, their prime years came during entirely different eras in the genre's development, making a beef between the two difficult to judge musically. Nonetheless, the two Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been exchanging verbal jabs recently. The latest installment in their online quarrel is a diss track from the legendary Melle Mel.
