According to reports, 17-year-old high school basketball star Caleb White died tragically after collapsing at practice.
White's grandfather shared the unfortunate news via Facebook. He said that despite the best efforts of first responders at White's Pinson Valley High School and doctors at the hospital upon arrival that Caleb couldn't be saved.
"Our whole family was really looking forward to his upcoming senior season and afterwards, playing for a D-1 school and then perhaps the NBA," wrote White's grandfather George Varnadoe Jr. "But......it wasn't meant to be."
White was ranked No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Alabama where he averaged 20.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season.
