Although many animal experts have surmised that crocodiles don't usually attack people, roughly 200 humans die a year from attacks. On the rare occasion that these giant reptiles venture beyond the swamps to pursue a human on land, they can only run about 5 miles per hour. However, their reaction time is known to be as fast as 100 milliseconds. So if they manage to get close enough to a human with their long v-shaped snouts and sharp crocodilian jaws, it's unlikely that the prey is getting away with all of their limbs still intact.
A video clip recently went viral of a daring man standing knee-deep in a murky river with a slab of raw meat dangling from his mouth. There have been plenty of news stories about zookeepers and gator farmers being bitten or nearly eaten alive while taking all the proper safety precautions. But in this video, the brave man threw caution to the wind and tested fate.
