According to reports, Los Angeles County has become the national center of brazen robberies regarding high-end designer lines such as Chanel and Versace. On Tuesday, a group of about 30 to 40 masked/hooded thieves made their way into the Saint Laurent store at the Americana Mall in Glendale, California (about 10 miles outside of Los Angeles), before pulling off a daring heist that resulted in nearly $300,000 worth of stolen merchandise. The on-camera incident shows the robbers running in and out of the store while shoppers and spectators casually looked on from their dining tables at an outdoor eatery directly across from the action. In the end, a few patrons tried to stop some of the thieves, but they all managed to escape with the help of 20 getaway cars stationed nearby. The last criminal, barely made it into the final getaway cart as it was driving off.
No weapons were used in a viral incident that the Glendale Police Department has described as a "Flash Mob." The suspects remain at large, while the police investigation is ongoing.
