Of all the bizarre ways to get injured by a wild animal, Peggy Jones might have the story that tops them all. On a lovely Tuesday afternoon in Silsbee, Texas, Peggy was casually mowing her lawn when suddenly, a snake fell from the sky, landed on her arm, and wrapped itself around her skin. This was just the beginning of the eerie incident because moments later, a hawk also landed on her arm in an attempt to grab the snake.
“The snake was squeezing so hard, and I was waving my arms in the air. And then, this hawk was swooping down, clawing at my arm over and over,” Peggy Jones recalled. “I just kept saying, ‘Help me, Jesus, Help me, Jesus.’’
Eventually, the hawk wrestled the snake away from Peggy's arm, leaving her a bloody mess amid screams for help until her husband emerged from the house and rushed her to the hospital. Thankfully, Peggy wasn't bitten by the snake, but the hawk left her arm gouged and scarred. Upon cleaning up, Peggy discovered how close she came to getting bitten by the venomous snake that landed on her.
“I discovered the lens on my glasses was broken, and there was snake venom on my glasses...I feel like the luckiest person alive to have survived this!” Peggy said.
The Texas-tough 63-year-old was treated by doctors with bandages for a punctured arm and antibiotics.
