According to reports, rapper Soulja Boy allegedly owes $1 million in back taxes.
Court documents that surfaced showed that Soulja Boy asked the court to reconsider the judgment made in favor of his ex-girlfriend Kayla Myers. The decision awarded Myers $236,000 in punitive damages.
It was noted that the rapper was supposed to pay $472,000 in her civil lawsuit against Soulja Boy. However, Soulja Boy’s lawyer claimed the rapper cannot pay, noting he doesn’t own any real estate and “leases a home for $25,000 per month.” Along with that, the rapper has a $1 million tax lien.
Soulja Boy’s lawyer said even if the rapper liquidated all his assets, he still wouldn’t be able to pay his tax lien and the money owed to Myers. According to Soulja Boy’s lawyer, the rapper wants the case re-tried and also wants the punitive damages awarded to his ex-girlfriend to be thrown out. Stay tuned for more updates.
