A bizarre video of YNW Melly was shown in court this week, where the rapper appears to be hiding in a suitcase while speaking about turning himself over to police. He can be heard saying, "My name is Melly, and I’m going to turn myself in. But I'm in a suitcase because these crackers are arresting me, and I want to get on a private jet so they don't see me."
Prosecutors played the self-recorded clip to the courtroom earlier this week, but it was noted that it was not shown to jurors. The video was reportedly the last footage recorded on a phone that has been linked to YNW Melly in his double-murder trial.
The prosecution’s final two witnesses took the stand this week and there was a forced hold on the trial after YNW Melly’s lawyer Raven Ramona Liberty got sick during Wednesday’s (July 12) lunch break. The trial is expected to resume on Monday.
